1st The introduction began with Deborah Fitzgerald, STS program head and former dean of MIT’s School of Humanities Arts and Social Sciences welcoming everyone. The symposium was a chance for these scholars to map out what lies ahead in terms of technological advancements.
2nd In the next session, Benjamin Daniel gave an insightful talk about his time at MIT's Tang Auditorium where he highlighted the importance of past technologies.
"The history of technology is not just a nostalgic exercise," Deborah Fitzgerald said, but it can help us understand how we got to where we are today - technologically speaking.
3rd This symposium was significant as some prestigious scholars attended and shared their knowledge about technological advancements at MIT's Tang Auditorium in June. Scholars attending the Symposium on History of Technology were there for one purpose – to discuss what lies ahead with technology.
4th A joke comes into mind after seeing all those smart minds: "What does MIT stand for? Does it have anything to do with 'Make Innovations Tangible?'". Deborah Fitzgerald welcomed everyone from around the world and seemed like someone who would tell such a humorous quip.
